Readers' Rides postponed

I regret to announce that I will have to postpone the announced Readers' Rides for this weekend. I would like to re-schedule them for the following weekend, Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th, at the same times and places as announced earlier.

While I have your attention . . .

Recently in comments, Joe Mizereck asked me to pass along the following bike-safety issue:
Good morning John. I need your help in getting the word out about a jersey I have developed to remind motorists that they need to give cyclists at least 3 feet clearance when passing from the rear. This is a law in 12 states in the US, but a universal need. Please share my website link with your friends

Here's what one site said:

Thank you,

Do you know if this is the law in Kansas?

It is not. The law in Kansas says something along the lines of "passing at a reasonable and safe distance", which some drivers interpret at 6 inches. Fortunately, my reach with a U-lock is about 3 feet...

Re: Jersey

I'm not a fan of the three footprint logo, but that's just a aesthetic thing. I'd totally wear the jersey. I'm currently making a new messenger bag with a day-glo orange\yellow reflector safety vest theme, and this would compliment it nicely
